Derek is also a leading business author, with his Nevada Corporation Handbook, which has sold over 25,000 copies in 9 printings.

Since 2002, Derek has served as the President of the Nevada Resident Agent Association (NRAA), which is Nevada's largest business organization, representing over 40,000 nevada companies. In his capacity with NRAA, Derek is active in the Nevada political process, and has written much of Nevada's laws regarding corporations, llcs and limited partnerships. He will represent the Nevada incorporation and resident agent industry again during the 2005 Nevada Legislature.
